Hello, this is Dr. Kim Hyung-taek of KOWON Plastic Surgery.
This patient’s bridge was low overall and the nose looked small, with a short, weak-looking tip that lacked dimension. In a case like this, simply raising the bridge isn’t enough; it is important to reinforce the structure of the tip as well and balance the whole.
While building up the missing bridge height to suit the proportions of the face, I also reshaped the short, weak-looking tip. The tip cartilages were sutured together to refine the shape (tip-cartilage suturing), and a strut was placed between the cartilages to strengthen the tip’s support, so that a stable height and direction are maintained.
I also adjusted the bridge and tip with a natural transition between them in mind, and balanced the columella, nasolabial angle and philtrum line together, so the midface came to look more three-dimensional and the previously flat impression was tidied into something natural and refined.
Right after surgery is the stage before the swelling has fully formed, so it is a point at which the bridge and tip lines and the overall structure created by the rhinoplasty can be seen relatively clearly.
KOWON Plastic Surgery starts from natural-looking change, but aims beyond a result that simply doesn’t show — for a “natural-glam” rhinoplasty that brings out the flow of the line and its details.
As recovery goes on and the swelling subsides and the tissues settle, the nose takes on a softer, more natural shape. Rhinoplasty results can differ with each person’s skin and structure, and the more settled final result can be seen after a sufficient recovery period.
