Male nose, hump nose correction — rhinoplasty before and after (right after surgery)
These KOWON Plastic Surgery male-rhinoplasty before-and-after photos, taken right after surgery, show the actual direction and structure of the change.
[Rhinoplasty notes — Dr. Kim Hyung-taek, KOWON Plastic Surgery]
Hello, this is Dr. Kim Hyung-taek of KOWON Plastic Surgery.
This patient had a male nose with a prominent hump and an uneven bridge line that gave a strong impression. In a case like this, simply removing the hump isn’t enough; it is important to refine the flow of the whole bridge and the direction of the tip together.
I refined the hump to smooth the bumpy bridge line and, taking the characteristics of a male hump nose into account, created a straight bridge line that isn’t overdone. The tip’s height and angle were adjusted together, and the design took the overall balance into account, softening the strong impression while keeping a masculine look.
I also adjusted the flow of the columella, nasolabial angle and philtrum line so that a natural line runs from the bridge to the tip in profile.
Right after surgery is the stage before the swelling has fully formed, so it is a point at which the bridge and tip lines and the overall structure created by the rhinoplasty can be seen relatively clearly.
KOWON Plastic Surgery starts from natural-looking change, but aims beyond a result that simply doesn’t show — for a “natural-glam” rhinoplasty that brings out the flow of the line and its details.
As recovery goes on and the swelling subsides and the tissues settle, the nose takes on a softer, more natural shape. Rhinoplasty results can differ with each person’s skin and structure, and the more settled final result can be seen after a sufficient recovery period.
